Touching base with Sounders first round pick David Estrada
When David Estrada was announced as the Seattle Sounders’ first round pick in last week’s Major League Soccer Superdraft, came as a bit of a surprise to fans and, it turns out, player alike. The UCLA Bruin was born in Mexico and scored 22 goals with 14 assists in his four-year college career. He set a UCLA freshman record for goals with 12 in 2006. ASN touched base with the 22-year old to feel him out a bit more about his game.

Sounders tie Dynamo 0-0 in first-leg playoff battle»In a match that featured intense physical play, defensive dominance and a near-brawl, the Seattle Sounders drew 0-0 with the Houston Dynamo on Thursday night at Qwest Field. Seattle defender Patrick Ianni, a last-minute replacement in the starting lineup, came closest to scoring by hitting the crossbar, but the home side also needed a few clutch saves by Kasey Keller to salvage the draw.
